Candice Falzon: professional athlete, model and face of Rival Swimwear and Infinity Fitness is a young woman with the world at her feet!
Growing up only minutes away from Maroubra Beach, Candice spent many of her days at the beach with her parents and brothers. Where the family would compete against each other as to who could ride the waves the longest. Her love for the water and competing grew and so her parents enrolled Candice into the local Nippers.
Not long after, Candice commenced swimming training at her local pool. Candice was also interested in running, so on her Nipper days, she participated in the beach sprints and flag events. Combining the two acquired skills, Candice began to compete in ironwoman challenges. She won her first state medal as an under 13.
This same year Candice trialed for the Uncle Toby‘s Super Series Surf Life Savings Pro Circuit and gained selection. This was a huge moment in her sporting career, as she was the youngest competitor ever to turn professional at the age of 14. Candice participated in the series for two years until Uncle Tobys pulled out their sponsorship and the series was no more. This did not deter Candice! At the age of 16 years, Candice was the NSW state Ironwoman Champion, winning four medals in both the board and Ironwoman events, including the rely races.
In her Ironwoman career, Candice has won over 60 medals in the Sydney branch titles, over 30 at State Titles and 9 Australian medals. She has also Completed the Gruelling Coolanagtta Gold event twice, finishing 8th in 2008.
An Ironwoman competition is no easy feat as competitors power through a surf swim, a board paddle a run along the sand and the surf ski. The determination Candice needs to push herself through it is breathtaking.
When Candice is not competing or training, Candice is a successful and sought after model.
